ABSTRACT

Great barbarous empires, world wars massacring millions of people, genocides, and today again wars that flare up every year – we might well think that our capacity to get along with one another is derisible indeed. Today the proclaimed war on terror depicts groups of humanity as mad dogs bent on annihilating civilian populations with no realistic benefits to be gained, and societies as a multiplicity of nations each pursuing its own interest and defence. Terrorists are not to be negotiated with; they must be hunted down and exterminated.
