ABSTRACT
The immense and interconnected dimensions of our global environmental crisis are calling us to reconsider the potential contributions of Confucianism to new forms of modernity. Our current environmental crisis is born out of the irony of unintended consequences of rapid modernization and unlimited industrialization. It invites us to new kinds of cultural correctives which embrace a broader environmental ethics.
