Weltbilder, or world views, are nearly completely neglected by sociology today. Analyses by reference to an array of categories that a priori exclude cognizance of the impact of world views prevail: interests, norms, organizations, class, ethnicity, gender, law, social structure, the family, power, conflict, institutions, and the state.2
