ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the rationale for the outsourcing legal contract in terms of its theoretical philosophy, practical format, the parties to it and its operational management. It also includes its associated requirements of confidentiality and treatment of personal data; and some typical features of its content: human resources; software; management of the ongoing relationship; dispute management; and a transition strategy on contract termination or expiry. Although an English law perspective underlies the discussion, it is largely applicable to outsourcing contracts generally.
