ABSTRACT

Queer2 geography is often conflated with sexuality and space studies and/or lesbian and gay geographies. In fact, these are distinct (though overlapping) fields. While their subject matter and approaches do often overlap, sexuality and space studies examine a wide range of issues pertaining to sexuality and space from a variety of theoretical, philosophical and even disciplinary perspectives, while lesbian and gay geographies traditionally focus on issues pertaining to LGBT experiences from a geographical perspective.
