ABSTRACT

It is already clear that the future of digital identity is closely linked to the future of biometrics, because biometrics can provide a degree of authentication well beyond that offered by any other technologies. But there are a lot of biometrics to choose from and they are evolving largely independent of each other. How can an organization develop a long-term strategy for the use of the technology? One useful technique is technology roadmapping, and this chapter looks at biometrics in the context of organization technology roadmaps for their deployment.
