ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the interim results of an ongoing research programme funded by the European Union as part of the Interreg IIIA Adriatic Cross Border Project.

The project is called GES.S.TER (Sustainable Management of Coastal Areas), and ran for a three-year period 2004-07; the aim of the project was to create a protocol for territorial analysis based on a GIS (Geographical Information System) targeted towards the valorisation of coastal activities.1
