ABSTRACT

The proposal of the School of Political Theatre emerges as part of the cultural front of the Popular Movement La Dignidad, a social and political organization of Left-wing piqueteros. The School of Political Theatre emerges as a project at the intersection of two traditions: non-formal education within the framework of a social and political organization and the various manifestations of popular theatre, which includes Theatre of the Oppressed, community theatre, agitprop, and clown, among others. As an educational project, the School is a space for artistic training in which both aesthetic and political tools are offered for learning the techniques to mount a theatrical production, a process that can transform and challenge those who attend. The street intervention made in October 2016 was convened by the Cultural Front of the movement.
