ABSTRACT

I have found that students have a hard time developing the review of literature. I discuss a few helpful ideas with them:

Consider developing the review around the variables involved in the study, or

Possible bases for developing a review of literature.

Consider developing the review as a historical retrospect, or

Consider reporting the “pros” versus the “cons” and then deciding where the weight of “evidence” seems to fall, or

Consider reporting or critiquing research procedures, and

Be sure to conceptualize the entire review with a beginning or introduction, the body or review, and the end or a Johnny Cochran summation.
