ABSTRACT
Perhaps relating an actual experience I had during the dissertation process will help. A friend of mine was doing a dissertation on a famous philosopher. He had gathered as much information as possible on this philosopher. There were articles in numerous foreign languages, articles about the philosopher, critiques of the philosopher, and so forth.
