ABSTRACT

One of the most difficult distillation processes that students have to go through in dissertation writing is to isolate exactly what their specific statement of the problem is to be. To help solve this difficulty, I have students meet together in small groups (4 to 6 students) where I guide them in a seminar type class. The objective of the class is to have each student present his/her statement of the problem and give a short itinerary as to how they are going to progress through their study based upon the statement of the problem that they currently have.
