ABSTRACT

Increasingly, adolescent psychiatric patients have interests in satanic symbols and rituals, or have had previous membership in satanic cults (Bourget, 1988). Although some adolescents merely dabble in satanism as they might with new forms of music, for others satanism can become so integrated into their identity that they cannot reject it. This paper is to call attention to the role of the art therapist in “containing” satanic expression while allowing the angry feelings associated with it to be worked through.
