ABSTRACT
In response to several questions, the panelists replied, and members of the conference commented, that women's migration patterns have varied by time and place, There is an increasing propensity of women to migrate and enter the paid labor force. In some parts of Oaxaca, women migrate more than men. Economic resources are important. The poorest do not migrate to the United States For example, the Mije and some poor ethnic groups migrate to the capital city of Oaxaca, and it is possible that they migrate to the North as agricultural workers.
