ABSTRACT
Water sustains natural ecosystems and human health; and in Asia, water holds symbolic and religious meaning. Water is critical to human survival; the fates of entire nations depend on access to water. Shortages not only limit economic growth, but water scarcity is the single greatest threat to human health, the environment and global food supply. Scarcity may even spark violent conflicts within Asia.
