ABSTRACT
More than a decade into the post-Cold War era, Asia is still in search of a new regional strategic structure that can cope with the emerging challenges to its stability and prosperity. While the new regional strategic structure is in the making, it will be shaped primarily by two critical factors: (1) sustainability and level of U.S. engagement in the Asia-Pacific region, and (2) the rise of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
