ABSTRACT

“Issues and Trends in School-based Consultation” defines school-based consultation and highlights the organization of the rest of the text. Basic skills needed to engage in school-based consultation with students with ASD are reviewed, as are key resources in understanding the current state of school-based consultation knowledge. The diverse research methods by which school consultation evidence is created are discussed, so that readers are able to consume such research knowledgeably. The chapter ends with a discussion of why school-based consultation is integral to the needs of students with ASD.
