ABSTRACT

This short chapter draws on the work undertaken by Rainbow and Wright in April 2014, when we surveyed prison researchers about their ‘Reflections on the challenges of “getting in, getting on, and getting out” for prison researchers.” The chapter looks at the perspectives of prison researchers when it comes to obstacles to prison research, tips for new prison researchers, and how to conduct oneself in a prison, as well as author reflections on the importance of mental wellbeing.
