ABSTRACT

There is much more to freelancing that simply writing articles. While it can provide a nice income as a side-line to a staff job, freelancing on a full-time basis requires a writer to be multi-talented, juggling several roles. These include marketing, sales and book-keeping, not to mention being the CFO – ensuring that there are regular commissions and perhaps a retainer to provide enough income to be self-sufficient. This chapter guides you through the pros and cons of freelance writing from a business perspective.
