ABSTRACT

Global changes have defined both the political and economic paradigm of countries. Geoeconomic alignment can have uneven benefits across countries. There are limitations in intra-regional gains. For instance, economic integration can boost trade, enhance knowledge and technology flows, boost investment, heighten operational standards, and lead to political harmony. Economic intelligence, or the research, analysis and distribution of economic information, is an important element in any geoeconomic strategy. The nature of geoeconomics continues to evolve, bringing forth new roles and responsibilities for all participants. Regional powers need to take a leadership role in cross-country fellowship. Developing a geoeconomic strategic plan would offer profound advantages to governments, international organizations and corporations. In creating a geoeconomic strategic plan, a more definite set of strategies will emerge and help shape and refine the geoeconomic agenda. Planning for internationalization heightens the chances of survival.
