ABSTRACT

The focus of this chapter is on issues surrounding the end of the internship year. The chapter is organized by three intern identities: trainee, professional, and supervisee. First, completion of trainee responsibilities is addressed, including program and university requirements and doctoral dissertation work. Second, closing out professional responsibilities such as terminating with students and staff, and applying for certification as a school psychologist are discussed. Third, concluding supervisee responsibilities is explored, including summative evaluations, terminating supervisory relationships, the role of final site visits, and how to pursue supervision and professional learning beyond the internship year.
