ABSTRACT

This chapter illustrates the variety of activities that may be a part of the school psychology internship year, informed by the National Association of School Psychologists Practice Model. Activities are presented in an integrated rather than piecemeal fashion. An emphasis is placed on interns reflecting on their own needs and interests to inform what activities they pursue. The traditional conceptualization of internship depth is expanded upon to include the possibility of pursuing one or more interests more intensively; by doing so, an intern can begin to develop pockets of expertise, such as working with a particular student population or a implementing a particular skill, program, or mode of service delivery.
