ABSTRACT

Development of new biosensors is conditioned by progress in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials between other fields. This chapter discusses the role of some promising nanomaterials, which can provide efficient, more sensitive, and versatile biosensing strategies. Most of them can be employed in electrochemical and optical biosensors working like labels, signal transducers, or substrates for biosensors’ platforms. Application of different types of nanoparticles, Quantum Dots, and carbon nanomaterials in paper-based biosensors, Lab-On-a-Chip devices, microarrays, and other (bio)sensors is presented.
