ABSTRACT
The number of individuals who identify as Hispanic/Latino is growing at a rate that is approximately four times that of the general United States population,1 and these populations are expected to double by 2050.2 Currently, individuals who identify as Hispanic/Latino and African American comprise 13% and 12% of the total United States population, respectively, which makes them the nation’s two largest ethnic/racial minority groups.3
