ABSTRACT
In the last decades cancer care has developed rapidly. e ever-expanding technological advances, together with the widespread adoption of multidisciplinary cancer care, have led to more complex treatment processes. Simultaneously, in most Western countries the number of cancer patients is rising and will continue to do so, with concurrently a rise in the number of elderly patients, leading to a greater risk of treatment-related morbidity and mortality.
