ABSTRACT
Intervention radiology (IR) is a specialty that has revolutionized patient care. It has had an impact on the diagnosis and treatment of patients in all medical and surgical specialties. Using evolving, innovative and oen complex techniques, under image guidance, patient care can be delivered in an ecient and eective manner. e emergence of this specialty has been made possible by enormous technological advances over the past several decades in relation to catheter and instrument design, imaging systems and radiological expertise.
