ABSTRACT
Humanistic Psychology at that time represented everything that was young, progressive, open to change and politically on the side of the angels. It encouraged us to begin a lifetime of development and expansion without ever having to label ourselves as 'ill' or lacking. To be sure, the future of Humanistic Psychology cannot mimic the past, because by its nature it was a new phenomenon responding to what was around. It expanded our limits, broke open our normal ways of thinking. The success of coaching is based at least in part on the fact that it implies that one is a go-getting person with nothing wrong with them except that they could use some visioning and hand-holding to do their job and life better. Humanistic Psychology always included within it the importance of the environment and the community and the idea that we need to create worlds that heal, not just good therapy.
