The fact that up to the present date no girl has been successful, is a striking proof of the disadvantages under which girls suffer educationally. The training and the pay of schoolmistresses are inferior to those of schoolmasters, girls are more frequently kept from 8chool by domestic requirements than boys, and twenty-five per cent. of their Bchool t.ime is deducted from educiition in order to practice needlework.
