ABSTRACT

Agar Ellis, being a petition from the Hon. Mrs. Agar Ellis, daughter of Lord Camoys, praying that proper directions might be given for the custody and education of her three infant daughters, of the rer;;pective ages of' 9, 11, and 12 years, so as to prevent them from being deprived of her maternal care, and to admit of their bemg brought up as Roman Catholics. Her case was founded upon a positive promise which had been made before her maniage by Mr. Agar Ellis to his thenintended wife, that all the children of the marriage should be brought up as Catholics, whereas he now desired to have them brought up as Protestants.
