ABSTRACT
SOUTH LONTION WORKING MEN'S COLLEGE.-The Echo is informed that the rooms and library of this college will be opened as a "free public reading room and library" on October 1st next, and remain open every week day, during suitable hours, so long as the expenses (estimated at 200l. per year) are provided by local contributions. The management will be under the control of a local committee, and the funds will be quite distinct from the funds of the college; but there will be no restriction as to age or sex, the rooms and books, etc., being freely at the service of any to whom they are useful.
