ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of the book. The book is an important tool for educators who want to address the gap between leaders' desire to address this important topic and the current offerings in educational institutions. It provides a framework for thinking about leader character and, more importantly, have tied this framework to a series of real-world cases that illustrate how leader character underlies organizational interactions. The book offers the students a more structured way of thinking about leader character in organizational contexts and provides them a vocabulary with which to address leader character in their workplaces and daily interactions. It presents a set of questions pertaining to the 11 character dimensions: drive, collaboration, humanity, humility, integrity, temperance, justice, accountability, courage, transcendence, and judgment. Leader character is an essential ingredient of leadership. While leader character has traditionally received little attention in business schools, momentum for discussing character-related issues is building.
