ABSTRACT
Racial conflict has firmly etched itself in the fabric of the nation. It is as old as the nation's soil itself. The undeniable fact is that there are many avenues in American society where racism flourishes. The fact is that there are white people who are shockingly unaware of the ways the dual systems of white supremacy and white privilege can work in tandem with one another. Again, while white privilege and white supremacy (the belief that whites are supposedly racially, physically, intellectually and morally superior to non-whites) are distinct, they can be similar and work together. While society has long despised and dismissed black people (men and women) in general, the fact is that mainstream society has always demonstrated a tremendous fear of black men. A powerful message has been sent that police brutality and violence against black bodies is an issue that is going to be aggressively dealt with.
