The Beginnings of Jewish Settlement and Zionism to World War I

WE address four specific questions and issues. The questions: How did early settlers and Zionist leaders see the land and its people (to the extent they did)? What form of organization and what borders did they envision? The issues: The emergence of Arab and Palestinians nationalism and identity (including movements and ideas), and the Palestinian reaction to Zionist settlement.
