ABSTRACT

This reconstruction of a Mycenaean amphoroid krater decorated with a chariot and figures is an offering of admiration and affection for a scholar and friend. It is based on sherds found during excavations at Tell ed-Duweir (Lachish) carried out between 1932 and 1938 by the Wellcome-Marston Archaeological Research Expedition to the Near East. Olga Tufnell was a leading member of the team, and the principal author of the publication of discoveries at Lachish (Tufnell and others, 1940, 1953, 1958).
