ABSTRACT
This paper addresses the question of changing Levallois technologies through time and space. It discusses the course of research into, and the nature of, Middle Palaeolithic technology and investigates, in particular, the relationship between Levallois and Quina technologies, raw material and landscape. It conclusion, it proposes a model to account for the interaction of Mousterian lithic technology and Neanderthal mobility.
