ABSTRACT
C3 plants Those plants that follow the Calvin-Benson photosynthetic cycle and generate molecules with three carbon atoms as the first product of photosynthesis. They include trees, shrubs, flowering plants, and most grasses.
C4 plants Those plants that follow the Hatch-Slack photosynthetic cycle and generate molecules with four carbon atoms as the first product of photosynthesis. They are mostly grasses that grow in high light intensity environments.
