ABSTRACT

Qinghai Province is a vast area situated in the northwest of the People’s Republic of China. Occupying the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, the area is the location of Kokonor, China’s largest inland saline lake, and home to a varied population of 5.5 million people including Han Chinese, Tibetans, Chinese Muslims (Hui), Monguor (Tu), Salar, and Mongolians.
