ABSTRACT
When we began this project we ran across the quote on the previous page, and then came back to it in the writing of this chapter, the place where all of us are connected. It’s the place where we’re not wood gatherers and sail makers, but rather, where we long for the endless immensity of a creative museum field. Because this isn’t just about individual museum workers or individual museums; we’ll get so much farther if we work together to strengthen the field-wide support systems that help us share information, learn more effectively from each other, and build a professional culture of experimentation.
