ABSTRACT

Change is both inevitable and hard. The story we will tell speaks to both. The task was to make the shift from a preschool program connected to a college of education to a potential inclusive early childhood education laboratory school ripe for Applied Developmental Science. As with any change, it is a work in progress. In order to provide the necessary context for this story, it is important to rst explore the conceptual framework for such a shift. Understanding the history as prologue to the present provides a map for such a shift.
