Robotic prostheses as products enhancing the rights of people with disabilities. Reconsidering the structure of liability rules

Unlike humans – we shall state, adapting Thomas Jefferson’s quote – ‘not all robots are created equal’.1 Indeed, robots do substantially differ from one another, and it is neither possible nor advisable to seek to identify one peculiar ontological trait, common to them all, much less elaborate a set of legal rules or a code of robot(ic)s indistinctively applicable to such a wide range of devices.2
