Pettigrew provides a novel argument for the EU thesis: for Rhoda (as for any non-EU-maximizer), there will be some EU assignment of values to acts that dominates her assignment of values to acts, in the following sense. In every state, the EU assignment is closer to the true value of the act than Rhoda’s assignment is.
