ABSTRACT
This chapter examines central tenet from the standpoint of postmodern thought and apply Jungian principles to cultural and personal issues in Japan. It discusses the role of psychological infrastructure in the age of the "ubiquitous" self-consciousness or internet. The German philosopher, Jürgen Habermas, described the concept "Moderne" in his article "Modernity: An Unfinished Project". Psychology emerging out of philosophy in its earliest days adopted self-observation or introspection as its own methodology. This well reflects that psychology was originally a discipline of self-consciousness, or self-relation. That is to say, "self-consciousness" was both the subject and methodology of psychology. The word "ubiquitous" is derived from a Latin word ubique, meaning "existing or being everywhere." Traditionally, this word was used in monotheistic cultural eras to express "the ubiquity of God," that is to say God imagined as the one and only fundamental reality can be at all places simultaneously.
