ABSTRACT

This paper introduces Conway’s metaphysical system and the relevant puzzles found therein, focusing particularly on her account of the three substances: God, Logos, and Creation. It proceeds in three steps, considering in turn each of the three substances. In particular, the paper focuses on Conway’s account of emanation, and her consequent panpsychism and vitalism (with respect to the Creation, or third substance). Both her panpsychism and vitalism are tied closely with her account of the universal perfectibility of creatures. So, the final section of the paper explores the relation between these three notions.
