ABSTRACT
What is the human security prognosis for India, home to well over a billion people who bring together every kind of diversity we know – gender, race, ethnicity, caste, class and lifestyle? India persuasively illustrates the limits of a state-centred view of security; the everyday insecurities and anxieties of most of its citizens are quite distant and distinct from those of the Indian state.
