ABSTRACT
Drawing upon the author’s research with various migrant populations, this chapter offers basic information for those who wish to incorporate visual methods and data into studies of international migration. Visual methods are shown to be useful for learning about generating rapport with respondents, accessing migrants’ understandings of situations and issues, facilitating communication, exploring theoretical concepts, comparing groups, sharing findings, and teaching about results.
