ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the organization structure, information management, and strategic imperatives as pathways towards effective global business intelligence. It discusses organizational structure to the way an organization needs to configure itself in order that it can optimize the process of business intelligence. Key considerations include the following: goal mutuality and alignment. An organization that shares the business intelligence load and operates as one unit would be in a position to manage information well. Cross-operational collaboration is essential in business intelligence. The chapter describes the information management refers to the gathering, processing and analyzing of information in order that the organization can make effective business decisions. It highlights the fact that global business intelligence constitutes at least several important functions. Global business intelligence would be effective when carefully planned and executed. Strategic intelligence, or the gathering of relevant intelligence to advance an organization's goals is critical to its practice.
