ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of Information Technology (IT) risks. It discusses the various cyberattacks and how to mitigate against them. The chapter explains the importance of business intelligence in the modern world and the role of the board and senior management in identifying, assessing, and managing the risk. Cybersecurity is defined as the IT infrastructure that has been implemented to protect computer networks and data from unauthorized access. Principles have been established to permit entities to practice safe security techniques to facilitate a reduction in the number of successful cybersecurity attacks. Since technology is at the forefront of business development for sustainable growth, various risks such as access, integrity, and availability risk have been introduced within the business environment. Data analytics assists entities with the creation of a single-screen dashboard that can assist a business prepare a snapshot of a company's firm-wide information security environment including key cybersecurity indicators.
