ABSTRACT
Recent economic development in East and Southeast Asia is remarkable. The Asian NIEs—South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore—and ASEAN member countries—Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines—are notable for their continuous economic growth.
