ABSTRACT
The unique features of the Pacific Rim can be described in several ways. First, this area includes almost all types of countries: advanced, newly industrialized, and developing. Second, almost all aspects of the science and technology spectrum are represented: technologies for economic development, technology transfer, high technology innovation, and creation of new scientific advances.
