ABSTRACT
For women and men interested in advancing their careers, having a mentor can be extremely helpful. A mentor not only offers friendship, support, and career advice but also provides help in promotion and in gaining access to influential organizational leaders. This chapter examines the benefits of mentoring in the public sector and highlights gender differences.
