ABSTRACT

As the title of this paper suggests, the goal of this essay is to summarize and analyze: (1) the intention(s) the presidents of firms responding to a mail survey had in choosing to adopt employee ownership; (2) their perceptions of the effects employee ownership on their firms; and (3) how their perceptions correlate with reality as measured by observable data. We will also examine whether the person who initiated the process to adopt employee ownership makes a difference.
